Stuart Kettlewell, manager of Motherwell, has characterized the decision to dismiss Dan Casey during their 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock on Friday night as “the worst” refereeing he has witnessed. Following Casey’s red card at the weekend, the Fir Park club has lodged a wrongful dismissal claim with the Scottish FA, with the appeal hearing scheduled for Christmas Eve. The defender received a straight red card subsequent to an altercation with Killie’s Danny Armstrong. Referee Chris Graham maintained his initial ruling, even after being recommended to review the incident on the pitchside monitor. Motherwell manager Kettlewell commented, “I’ve not spoken to one individual that sees that the same way as the outcome.” He elaborated, “I don’t think we can ever see that, that scenario where it’s so cut and dry, in my opinion, and I know there’s an appeal to be heard and all the rest of it, but I just find it baffling.” Kettlewell further asserted, “It’s genuinely the worst one that I’ve seen.” Addressing the wider context, he added, “But we have to look at this bigger picture as well, and it’s worldwide. That game was on the television. We’re trying to give the best account of ourselves as we possibly can.” He concluded by stating, “We didn’t play particularly well as a team, but I don’t think that type of decision does the game in this country any favours whatsoever.” Post navigation Micah Richards Urges Liverpool to Extend Mo Salah’s Contract Don Cowie Reflects on Ross County’s Victory, Prepares for Old Firm Matches, and Emphasizes Team Belief
