BBC Sport pundit Nedum Onuoha, who regularly offers his insights on Premier League clubs, addressed questions this week, including one from Tim regarding Christopher Nkunku’s potential departure should his Premier League playing time remain limited. Onuoha responded, stating that Nkunku’s situation “will depend on what he was told when he first joined the club.” He noted that Nkunku “was meant to be a big signing for Chelsea and on quality should be playing weekly.” While Nkunku “can play the waiting game,” Onuoha believes “Enzo Maresca sees him and Nicolas Jackson as two different types of player.” Onuoha acknowledged that “It is great that Nkunku is playing in Europe” but highlighted that “he has come from playing every week in the Bundesliga and being one of the stars of that league.” Consequently, Onuoha expressed, “So for that reason, I would be surprised if he was happy to just be sat on the bench at Chelsea.” He clarified, “I am not saying he should leave but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is talking to Maresca because he knows he is good enough to start games.” Onuoha concluded by stating, “I also doubt he would struggle to find other suitors.” Nedum Onuoha’s comments were made during a discussion with BBC Sport’s Katie Stafford.
