An individual operating a skip wagon has been apprehended following a collision in a North Yorkshire market town that left a woman with serious injuries. The pedestrian, aged in her 90s, was struck by the wagon on Monday morning on Railway Street in Malton, at its junction with the Water Lane car park. North Yorkshire Police reported that the injured woman was transported to York Hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs. The police force appealed for witnesses who observed the crash to come forward and extended thanks to the local community for their assistance.
