A 90-year-old man has passed away following a house fire in Dorking, Surrey Police announced. The Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) reported being summoned to the conflagration on Leslie Road shortly after 09:00 BST. Surrey Police confirmed the man’s death after 16:00 GMT, stating that his next of kin had been notified. In a statement, the police force communicated: “A cordon remains in place along Leslie Road and officers from Surrey Police and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service will remain at the scene as they carry out enquiries.” SFRS indicated that four fire engines were present at the location, and crews deployed six sets of breathing apparatus, two thermal imaging cameras, and one jet.
