80-year-old man dies after being struck by his own vehicle

Cheshire Police are requesting witnesses to a “tragic” event where a driver was fatally injured after being struck by his own vehicle. This incident occurred around 12:15 GMT on December 12, on Mill Lane in Mobberley, Knutsford. Authorities suspect the 80-year-old man had recently exited his silver Kia Sportage. He subsequently passed away in hospital. His passenger, an 80-year-old woman who was also involved in the collision, is still hospitalized with serious injuries. The police force stated it is working to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the event. It urged witnesses and anyone in the vicinity possessing “anything relevant” on CCTV or dashcam recordings to contact them. Inspector Steve Griffiths commented: “This is a tragic incident that has happened so close to Christmas. “It is vital we can piece together the events of last week to establish exactly what happened.””
