Authorities have apprehended two individuals following the discovery of whisky, estimated to be worth tens of thousands of pounds and suspected of being stolen, inside a lorry in West Yorkshire. Police reported that the vehicle was brought to a safe halt using a stinger device after a “brief pursuit” on the northbound M606, close to Bradford, around 07:50 GMT on Saturday. This action occurred after the driver had previously not complied with officers’ instructions to stop. West Yorkshire Police stated that the lorry, which officers suspected of operating with cloned registration plates and lacking necessary documentation, contained Johnny Cree whisky bottles with an estimated total value of £70,000. A spokesperson for the force confirmed that the two men apprehended at the location were still in custody. They also mentioned that the northbound M606 was temporarily shut down as a safety measure while law enforcement personnel managed the situation, but it was subsequently reopened.
