Police have confirmed that a man has died after being hit by a lorry. The incident involved a 70-year-old pedestrian who was struck by a DAF Trucks vehicle at approximately 10:45 GMT on Monday. The collision occurred on the carriageway of the A666 Bolton Road in Darwen. Lancashire Police reported that the man passed away at the scene. The road was subsequently closed for several hours as an investigation was carried out. The police force is appealing for witnesses and any footage related to the incident.
