A man passed away in hospital five days after sustaining injuries in a road traffic collision on the A57 near Rotherham. The 61-year-old had been travelling as a passenger in a silver Kia Rio when it collided with a Ford Transit van in Aston on November 15. Both the man and the 55-year-old woman driving the Kia suffered serious injuries and were admitted to hospital, where he subsequently died on Wednesday. South Yorkshire Police stated that his family is receiving support from specialist officers. The police are requesting that anyone possessing information or dashcam footage of the incident, which happened between the A618 Mansfield Road and the B6053 Chesterfield Road junctions, get in touch with them.
