A £400,000 grant fund is being made available to assist charities operating in the Channel Islands, specifically those providing aid to individuals impacted by the cost of living. The Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands (LBFCI) announced that 10 individual grants, each valued at £40,000, will be accessible to charitable organizations. These organizations must demonstrate “a significant increase in demand due to the impact of the cost of living crisis on people who are socially excluded and disadvantaged”. The foundation is scheduled to mark its 40th anniversary in 2025. According to the foundation, it has distributed over £25 million to charities across the Channel Islands since its inception 39 years ago. Philippa Stahelin, the foundation’s chair, stated, “we want to ensure those charities who have been most affected receive our help.” Ms Stahelin further elaborated that “The past few years have been especially difficult for charities, beginning with the Covid-19 pandemic and followed by the cost of living crisis which have had the double impact for charities of increased demand and increased cost.”
