A man aged 27 will face trial following his denial of a murder charge involving a grandfather. Police reported that David Dosa, 53, residing at Farley Court, Luton, passed away on August 15 after sustaining stab wounds outside his residence. During a hearing held at Luton Crown Court on Monday, Yasar Hussain, from Buxton Road, Luton, entered pleas of not guilty to both the murder of Mr Dosa and the charge of possessing a bladed article. Judge Michael Simon announced that a trial has been scheduled to commence on January 27, 2025. The judge also set an additional preliminary hearing for January 3 and ordered Mr Hussain to remain in custody. Mr Hussain’s only statements were to verify his identity and to submit his not guilty pleas. Legal matters were deliberated by the judge with barristers Sean Larkin KC, representing the prosecution, and Maria Karaiskos KC, who is counsel for Mr Hussain. In the weeks following his death, Mr Dosa’s family members had honored him in a statement released by the police. They mentioned that Mr Dosa was a grandfather to two grandchildren. Authorities had previously stated that Mr Dosa was declared deceased in Farley Court around 14:15 BST on August 15.
