A 21-year-old has been charged by law enforcement following the death of a man, an event that stemmed from an incident on a North Lanarkshire street. Jamie Lucas, aged 33, was discovered injured on Stirling Street in Airdrie around 02:45 on Sunday. He was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. The individual facing charges is scheduled to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Tuesday. Det Ch Insp Jamie Campbell stated: “My thoughts remain with Jamie’s family and friends. We continue to offer them support at this very difficult time.” He added: “I’d like to thank members of the local community for their support during our investigations.” He further encouraged anyone with concerns to contact officers and also requested that individuals with information come forward.
